In Mal's Shipping Calculations:

Set up the shipping type to use units.
Select shipping  Option #3, Option #5 or Option #7 - but do *not* check the 'set equal to price' box.

In ShoppeGenie:

Enter a units value ( Products edit/add screen in SG admin ) of zero on the items that will have no shipping, and a shipping unit amount on all other items.
on items that do incur a shipping fee you would either enter the item's weight, or if you're not using weights on your items you can fill the *units* field with the number "1" or any other number except "0"



Option #7 is the most common one used, but choose the one that best suits your needs.
