Site Settings is where you add your company name, the email address that's used in the contact page form, your site's global meta tags and meta title....and more.

Company name and email address

Remember that the email address you use here will be the one emails are sent to when someone contacts you via the contact page form and this is the address that your password is sent to if you use the "Forgot Password" feature at the admin login screen.

Site Message and Email Link

1 ) If you ever need to place a message to alert your customers of something - maybe holiday or vacation shipping schedules - you'd place that info in the Site Message.

2 ) If you choose to have an "Email a Friend" link available for your customers put the link text that you want to appear on your pages - don't put your email address.

Meta Tags

The tags you fill in here will be used on any page that you happen to forget to set up with it's own meta tags.

1 ) Meta Title - Title tag info appears at the top bar of the web browser, and is also the clickable link to a web page in the search engine results. It should contain the main keyword phrases that best describe the page and is generally 7-10 words long.

2 ) Meta Description - Here you'd place a sentence or 2 that incorporates your main keyword phrases and describes what is on the page. Each page should have it's own.

3) Meta Keywords - This would be a list of keywords you want to use. You can fill this out but it's not necessary these days as most of the big search engines ignore them. If you have time and want to put some keywords in here that's great - if not don't worry about it.

4 ) Remember to click "Update Variables" to save your changes!
